See yourself how God sees you

When God sees you, he sees someone he has already reconciled to himself.  He has already made peace with you.  He has made you holy.  He has made you without blemish and you are free from accusation.

It's already done.  He did it because you can't.

He wants you to rest in that and to see yourself through that lens because that's how it is.

The moment you begin thinking it's about what you do or don't do, it begins to fall apart.

It's not because you're no longer reconciled to him or not holy anymore, it's because you're trusting in yourself and not in him.

Keep on trusting that what he says is true.  Beware of people who say you have to keep on earning grace by what you do or don't do.  They don't know that they are misunderstanding what God has done.

"Well, what about sin?  What about doing good works?"

Yes, we should understand what sin is and put it out of our lives, but it's not what keeps you right with God.

Removing sin is like taking the weeds out of your garden.

You do that so that what you want to grow has room and resources to grow.

But you don't focus your time on sin, but on his grace.

His grace will show you how to live and what to remove from your life.

His grace will show you the good things you need to do.

Colossians 1:19-23
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him [Jesus], 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present youholy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.

12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—

the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
